Onyx Street EP

We are currently booking gigs for this summer (yay)! So, be sure to follow us on bandsintown (or check our home page) to keep up with summer shows. We have one coming up on April 21st at Sam Bond’s Garage.

In the meantime, we have a second collection of songs that we just released on bandcamp. The Onyx Street EP illustrates well all the mixed emotions we have felt as a band throughout the last 2 years. I have a feeling these songs will resonate with you, as well.

It starts with “One and the Same,” a song by Israel that perfectly puts into words the contradictions we find in each other and in ourselves. Hmmm…can anyone relate? But, no surprise, Israel presents this confusion in a delightful way.

The second song “Test of Time,” is the only love song on the album, written by yours truly. I’d wanted to write a love song inspired by my parents for a long time, playing with the idea that long-lasting relationships require choosing to keep loving each other and “finding the sun between the rain.”

Then Cory Briar brings us “Forever Yours,” a song that is an imagined conversation between a human and its creator. The lyrics are powerful enough to read on their own, but when paired with the beautiful melodies that also came out of Cory’s head, it becomes something truly special.

And, we finally come to Luke Lillard’s contribution to this EP. His song, “Year of Disruption” is about a particular year that was quite disruptive and also is a discussion about going home after a long absence. Why go back? Well, listen to the song and we’ll tell you why.

So, head over to our bandcamp page and pick up both our EP’s.

Cheers!

-Kristin
